We are currently examining the Hoyer
lift from an ergonomics and human factors perspective. Although it does not
deal with fluid power directly, it is important to understand how it works to
better design the actual device around the user. Therefore we are trying to
center the design to the hospital personnel that will be using it. In order to
do so, we will be interviewing at least 6 hospital personnel to analyze their
opinions on new technology and others factors that will help us tailor to their
needs. So we will be partnering with the nursing department here at A&T to
help with volunteers at local hospitals.
